Last American WWI Veteran?

Today I heard that the last French WWI Veteran died, a very sad event indeed. Lazare Ponticelli is going to recieve a state funeral and France will declare a national day of remembrance. There are now just 13 "Great War" veterans left.

Now my question is when Frank Buckles, the last American WWI veteran dies, should we follow France and have a state funeral and a national day of remembrance? it is a terrible thing to think about and hopefuly it will not happen for a quite a while but when it does, I absolutley think we should. Mr. Buckles met with President Bush last week at a ceremony to commemorate WWI veterans. What do you think we should do?

Give this man the funeral of a presedent, he is a legend and should be treated as such,
Reply:remember the sad episode of history, the men and the tragidy that war has brought. I wear a WW1 dog tag every day and have for years to remember my Grandfather, and my Father in WW2..then we should fnd a way to end the one going now, and not have another for a long time.
Reply:I think there should be some sort of special recognition
Reply:heck yes we should he fought for our country he should be recognized for it
