Is it mandatory to buckle safe belt at rear seat in California?

It's state law in California that ANY passenger in a motor vehicle has to wear a safety belt while in a moving car.

I think there are some technicalities such as with classic cars or buses, but that's the exception, not the rule.

If the car has seatbelts, they need to be used. That's the law in any state. And the fine is hefty if you don't comply.

The exception to that would be a pre-seatbelt classic car; the ones I know of are not required to have seatbelts because they weren't original manufacturers' equipment. But they're the *exception*, not the rule.
Reply:yes it is the law states that every one has to be properly restrained. if the person who is not using the seat belt is under 16 then the driver will get the ticket. if there is a child that should be in a car seat and is not the parents or driver can face child endangerment charges also
Reply:YEP!
Reply:Only if you are in a car.
